ALTERNATE COLOURING HERE: [link]
(Darker, more green based version...)

This was a picture I drew for an amazing lass some time last year. This evening she was kind anough to take a photo of it, so I was kind enough to make this into a wallpaper so we can ALL enjoy it's splendour.

Something very simple. But you've got to start somewhere.

Consider this an early thankyou for the 5,000 pageviews, you amazing people.

Specs:
Dimensions: 1280x1024
Tools: Felt-tip and artbook for line-art. Mac fireworks for colouring.
Time: 2.5 hours or so, whilst procrastinating.

This is so good! Not surprised at the 4000+ pages views on it!

The colour really draws my in, cos it's a dark vintage look, really cool!

You did this with felt tips? Awesome!!

I'm sure she loved it too :D!

Thanks a million!

And yes, outline was felt-tip (scanned in), then the colour was in macromedia fireworks.
Colours were quite "normal" to begin with, then yellow/brown textures and semi-transparent rectangles of colour were added over the colour layer and the outlines, giving it that look.

Pretty easy way to make cool colours - colour normally (perhaps a little more pastel than usual), but keep blues to a very light tint (no bright colours).
Then just add semi-transparent yellow/golden brown rectangles over the top and fiddle until you get the desired colour.

And yes, she was quite surprised when she got an A3 poster of it to cheer her up. :D

the truth about rainbows: the sun barfs them up. :)

my take on it:
it's a fresh spin on the "waiting out the storm for rainbows" concept. glad we aren't beating dead horses, here.

and can i also say
DAWWW. YOUR CLOUDS ARE SO CUTE. :aww:

I'm a vego. Animal rights and anti-horse-beating campaigns are high up on the agenda.

:)

I'm thinking of making a vector stock pack of my clouds because I keep getting comments on them. But then I think they might become a little less special in my personal use. Thoughts...?
